Local History Resources
The Carnegie Public Library maintains a collection of unique local history items in our Mississippi Room. We have vertical files (newspaper clippings and other documents) on local and regional topics, as well as photos, letters, printed materials, and similar items. We have microfilm of local newspapers and records available at the library, and soon we will have a link to scanned newspapers that you can browse remotely. The topic and name index for the Clarksdale Press Register is currently being added. You can find links to pdf files of each index for the years 2000-2008 below. We are continually updating and adding scanned material, so check back.
