...get a library Card
Library cards are free to all citizens of Coahoma County. You just need to bring in proof of
your current residence and fill out an application. Those living outside the county but in areas
participating in the Dancing Rabbit Consortium may get a Dancing Rabbit Card from their local
library, which entitles them to receive a CPL card at no charge. Others desiring library privileges
will need to request an Out-of-County card. The charge is $25.00. All replacement cards are
$2.00. There is no age limit to get a resident's card, but a parent or guardian must sign the
application for minors.
...get eBooks
If you have a library card in good standing, you can create accounts that will allow you to check out eBooks from Axis 360 and download and stream music from Freegal. Both of these require (free) apps. Click on the icons on our home page to get started, and feel free to call us or drop in for assistance setting up your account and apps.
...find out what's going on at the library
You can sign up for our email newsletter to get updates on programs and events. We also have a Facebook page you can like to keep in touch, and details about our Community Book Talks Lecture Series are here.
...return or renew books
You can return them to the desk or drop them in the book drop accessible at the rear of the library building. You can renew items once over the phone. You can also drive up to the book drop and call us to pick up items. Go to the catalog to set up your account for online renewal. You will need your PIN and card number.
...know when my items are due
Your receipt tells you the due date of items. Books, ebooks, audibooks, and CDs have a two-week checkout, and videos and magazines may be kept for one week.
...find out if I have a fine and how much it is
Fines for print items are $.10 per day with a maximum $5 per item and $.05 for children's items, with a maximum of $2. All videos are $.50 per day, with a maximum of $2 per item. For details on costs for damaged or lost items, please see our staff.
...use World Book online, Rocket Languages, and Magnolia
You can use all of our databases from home. Log onto World Book encyclopedia with the code. To use Rocket Langagues, you will need your library card to set up an account. Use the code Magn1023 to access Magnolia from outside the library. We are always happy to help you with any of these services.
...create an account to request materials or place holds
You can do that here, and you will need your library card and your PIN. If you have not set up a PIN, come in or give us a call.
